And I’m super sad-face about it. I’m not ashamed, either. I LOVE Summertime weather! I love the warm (okay, hot) air, the awesome sunshine, gardening, and the birds singing. I do not like wasps, however. Those are bad. Butterflies are awesomesauce, too.
We started “not back to school” during the first full week of August. This is the second year I’ve made a real set schedule for our school year, and since we started back so early, we get our first break early! We’ll be going 6 weeks on and 1 week off, except this first break will be 2 weeks off. The kids have worked really hard so far this year, and I’m so proud of them. Rachelle’s math skills are improving, and I have A+TutorSoft Math to thank for that. Math doesn’t have to make you cry, and she doesn’t cry with math anymore! Code CFAMILY gets you a 20% discount, FYI. ANd right now through September 21st, the yearly math option is on sale, so that sale combined with my code gets you a year of math for about $60. That’s a great deal!
Issac is leaning more towards an interest in science. He loves all things weather, animals and hunting, etc. This week we’re planning to take a tour of a local news station, which of course includes the weather area. I can’t wait to see his face when we go. I’m hoping I can take pictures while we’re there. 😀
Ethan keeps improving in his reading skills, which I’m thrilled with. We participate in Pizza Hut’s Book-It! reading program, so I’m hoping this’ll entice him to learn even more, and I’m hoping by year’s end he’ll be even better.
Lucas is almost 5, so I’m waiting another year before officially considering him Kindergarten level. I just really feel he’s way too immature right now. However, we are working on letter sounds and some writing. He can already recognize numbers 0-9, and some letters. Writing is still kinda hit or miss with him.
One good thing about the passing time is we are getting closer and closer to a major blessing. I’m so excited about it, but I can’t really divulge details right now. I’m about to bust, but I must wait.
